I am working with a growing and well-established business to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This is a varied role offering exposure across the full transactional finance function, supporting purchase ledger, sales ledger, payroll and month-end activities within a busy and supportive environment.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or similar finance role
  • Strong experience across Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger
  • Experience processing payroll or supporting payroll functions is advantageous
  • Good understanding of reconciliations and month-end processes
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience using accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage a busy workload
  • Experience within construction or project-based environments would be beneficial

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process purchase invoices, supplier reconciliations and payment runs
  • Raise sales invoices and manage customer accounts
  • Support credit control and debtor management
  • Process payroll and employee expenses
  • Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare VAT, PAYE and CIS returns
  • Assist with month-end journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Maintain accurate financial records and support the wider finance team with day-to-day accounting duties
