As Transaction Services Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in delivering financial due diligence and transaction advisory projects for a varied client base, including private equity houses, corporates, entrepreneurs and owner-managed businesses. You will support senior team members across live transactions, helping clients understand the financial performance, risks and key value drivers of acquisition targets or businesses preparing for sale. This is a highly commercial role where you will be involved in analysing financial information, preparing reports, managing workstreams and dealing directly with clients throughout the transaction process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence assignments
  • Analyse historical financial performance, trading trends, working capital, debt-like items and quality of earnings
  • Prepare and review financial due diligence reports, databooks and client-facing deliverables
  • Work closely with private equity, corporate and entrepreneurial clients throughout the deal process
  • Identify key deal issues, risks, opportunities and commercial value drivers
  • Manage junior team members and support their development on live projects
  • Liaise with clients, targets, legal advisers, funders and other transaction stakeholders
  • Contribute to business development activity, pitch preparation and client relationship building

The successful candidate will likely be a qualified accountant with experience in Transaction Services, Financial Due Diligence, Deal Advisory or Corporate Finance. You may currently be working within a Big 4, Top 10, mid-tier or boutique advisory firm and looking for a move into a more entrepreneurial, hands-on and commercially focused environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Transaction Services, Financial Due Diligence, Deal Advisory or Corporate Finance
  • Strong financial analysis, report writing and Excel skills
  • Good understanding of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, working capital and debt analysis
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple transactions and deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with clients and stakeholders
  • Commercial mindset with a genuine interest in M&A and the wider deals market
