Performance Bonus Enhanced Annual Leave increasing over service Flexi Time Early 2pm finish Friday's I'm working with a leading organisation who are looking to recruit an experienced Payroll Officer to manage the delivery and processing of multiple high-volume weekly and monthly payrolls. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to take ownership of a broad payroll function while working closely with HR, Finance and external providers.

About the Job Reporting to the HR Director, the Payroll Officer will be responsible for managing and processing payroll across the business, ensuring an accurate, efficient and proactive service. The role will be responsible for assisting with and completing the following duties... Manage the delivery, processing and approval of weekly and monthly payrolls. Manage the payroll inbox, responding to employee queries and ensuring timely resolution.

Process monthly payroll changes including health cash plan joiners and leavers, charitable giving and childcare vouchers. Ensure statutory payments including SSP, SMP and SPP are accurately calculated and processed. Manage employer pension obligations, including auto-enrolment and weekly administration. Work closely with the HR team to ensure payroll administration is completed throughout the employee lifecycle, including new starters, annual leave and leavers.

Administer the Time & Attendance system, including absence reporting, shift schedules and annual leave records. Process agency worker timesheets. Provide payroll reports to Finance to support month-end reconciliations. Provide payroll information and data to external auditors, insurers and other relevant bodies. Liaise with third-party payroll providers, insurance brokers, health cash plan providers and pension providers.

Assist with annual payroll activities including PAYE settlement, P11D submissions, salary reviews and annual leave entitlements. Assist with the administration of return-to-work processes. Maintain and update payroll processes and SOPs. Process payroll system changes and updates. Keep up to date with legislative and compliance changes affecting payroll. Contribute to payroll projects and process improvement initiatives as required.

Previous experience Minimum of 2 years' experience working within a payroll function in a medium to large organisation. Demonstrable understanding of payroll compliance, employer obligations and pensions. Experience using payroll, HR and Time & Attendance systems. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Previous experience using payroll software packages. Strong understanding of confidentiality and the ability to handle sensitive employee information.

Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and use own initiative. Self-motivated, proactive and adaptable approach.

Previous experience within a manufacturing or FMCG environment (Desirable). Knowledge of PAMS and North Time Data / Workflow Infinity (Desirable). Working knowledge of employment terms and conditions and general employment legislation (Desirable). Strong IT skills and experience gathering, analysing and reporting HR data (Desirable).
