About the job:

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Group Payroll Manager will take ownership of the global payroll function, ensuring payroll operations are delivered accurately, efficiently, and compliantly across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Lead and manage the global payroll function across the organisation
  • Oversee day-to-day payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of payroll professionals
  • Drive a high-quality payroll experience for employees globally
  • Lead payroll process improvement initiatives, focusing on automation, scalability, and efficiency
  • Develop and enhance payroll controls, processes, and governance frameworks
  • Partner closely with People Operations and wider Finance teams
  • Support business growth by establishing payroll processes in new global locations
  • Provide payroll expertise on complex global payroll and tax matters
  • Deliver payroll reporting, insights, and recommendations to senior finance leadership
  • Manage relationships with outsourced payroll providers and ensure service levels are achieved
  • Support payroll-related projects and strategic business initiatives
  • Ensure payroll systems and processes remain fit for future business growth

Your skills & experience:

  • Extensive experience within a payroll leadership role (Essential)
  • Previous experience managing and developing payroll teams (Essential)
  • Experience overseeing global or multi-country payroll operations (Essential)
  • Strong payroll controls, compliance, and governance experience (Essential)
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems knowledge (Essential)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills (Essential)
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships across Finance, HR, and external providers
  • Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines
  • Hands-on approach with the flexibility to support operational payroll activities when required
  • Experience with Workday payroll systems (Desirable)
  • Experience within a professional services or technology environment (Desirable)
