I am working with a well-established manufacturer on their Assistant Management Accountant position. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support a Finance Controller in delivering accurate monthly reporting, robust financial controls, and meaningful commercial analysis to support both short-term performance and long-term strategy.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience within a management accounting or finance role
- Strong understanding of monthly management accounts preparation and variance analysis
- Experience completing balance sheet reconciliations across key accounts
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills: experience with Power BI is advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to financial control
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including journals, variance analysis, and commentary
- Complete and maintain balance sheet reconciliations across stock, payroll, fixed assets, accruals, VAT, and intercompany accounts
- Design, update, and analyse KPI dashboards, highlighting trends and improvement opportunities
- Analyse gross margin performance by product, customer, and division, identifying key drivers and variances
- Review overhead expenditure against budget and forecast, preparing departmental reports and supporting budget holders
- Strengthen financial controls, support audit processes, and contribute to continuous process improvement
