I'm working with a well-established property investment and development company in the Cookstown area who are looking to recruit an Accounts Technician to join their established finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Technician or Part-Qualified Accounting Technician looking to gain exposure across statutory accounts, VAT, audit and financial reporting within a supportive environment offering long-term career development.

About the Job

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with and completing the following duties:

  • Assist in the preparation of annual accounts for a portfolio of companies
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns
  • Assist with year-end audit preparation and audit queries
  • Submit statutory accounts to Companies House
  • Cash book postings and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Manage the sales ledger and debtor reconciliations
  • Liaise with external agents when required
  • Provide bookkeeping support across the wider finance team
  • Carry out any additional finance duties as required

Previous experience

  • Qualified or Part-Qualified Accounts Technician (AAT/IATI)
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience within a busy finance department
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative finance team
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Previous experience using Sage Accounts Production or Bright would be advantageous
