The business oversees almost $2bn of annual revenue across its client portfolio, providing a broad range of services from bookkeeping and management accounting through to CFO advisory, fundraising, debt financing, M&A support, tax structuring and strategic growth planning. About the Role As an Assistant Accountant, youll join a growing finance team and play an important role in supporting the accounting requirements of a diverse client portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for a hungry and ambitious finance professional who wants to develop their career within a modern, fast-paced advisory environment. Youll gain exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities, working with clients across different sectors while developing your technical knowledge and commercial understanding. Key Duties: Supporting day-to-day accounting activities across a portfolio of clients Processing accounts payable and maintaining accurate financial records Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations Assisting with VAT returns and related compliance requirements Supporting payroll processing and associated administration Assisting with month-end processes and management accounts Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records using Xero Liaising with clients and internal teams to resolve finance queries Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc accounting requirements Identifying opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency Skills & Experience Required Previous experience within an accounting or finance environment Strong understanding of core accounting processes including AP, bank reconciliations, VAT and payroll Experience using Xero is highly desirable Strong IT skills and confidence learning new systems and technology Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy Good communication skills with the confidence to work with clients and colleagues remotely Organised and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Proactive, ambitious and hungry to develop a career in finance Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a fully remote team For more information on this opportunity or to discuss your suitability, contact Ryan Wharry@ HireIQ in complete confidence.
