About the Job
Reporting to the Finance Manager and working as part of a busy finance team, the successful candidate will take responsibility for processing end-to-end weekly and monthly UK payroll for approximately employees using Sage Payroll. This role requires a high level of accuracy, confidentiality and the ability to work to strict payroll deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing end-to-end weekly and monthly UK payroll for employees using Sage Payroll.
- Managing payroll inputs including overtime, bonuses, holidays, sickness, statutory payments and deductions.
- Processing starters, leavers and amendments to employee records.
- Completing payroll checks, reconciliations and variance reviews prior to payroll sign-off.
- Submitting RTI returns to HMRC accurately and on time.
- Managing pension uploads, auto-enrolment and related payroll deductions.
- Responding to employee and management payroll queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Preparing payroll journals and supporting month-end reporting processes.
- Ensuring compliance with payroll legislation, GDPR and internal company procedures.
- Supporting continuous improvement within payroll processes and controls.
Your Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 2 years payroll experience in a payroll environment.
- Proven experience processing end-to-end weekly and monthly payroll.
- Strong working knowledge of Sage Payroll.
- Good understanding of HMRC legislation, PAYE, NI, pensions and statutory payments.
- Strong IT skills, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage confidential information professionally.
