About the Job
- Reporting to the Partner, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of the companies accounts function.
- Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Preparation of management accounts and VAT returns
- Data analysis, reconciliations and other general accounting tasks
- Supporting clients with cloud accounting software (Xero, Sage etc)
- Processing weekly and monthly payrolls for a range of clients
- Assisting with tax return preparation and other compliance tasks
- Communicating directly with clients and addressing queries in a professional manner
Skills and Experience
- For trainee applicants - University degree with a minimum 2:1 classification
- Previous experience of working in an accountancy practice is desirable but not essential
- Forward-thinking mindset and a willingness to learn and adapt
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage time and priorities effectively
- Good communication skills and a client-focused approach
- Full driving licence preferred
