A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Payroll professional to develop their international experience within a growing engineering company operating across the UK, Ireland and Europe.

About the Job

Working as part of Centum Engineering's established payroll function, the successful candidate will support the accurate and timely processing of payroll across a multi-jurisdictional workforce. Centum delivers major engineering projects across the UK, Ireland and Europe within sectors including data centres, pharmaceuticals, commercial construction and industrial engineering. Due to the international nature of the business, this role offers genuine exposure to European payroll, international workforce movements, country-specific requirements and global mobility. It would be particularly suitable for someone with strong UK and Ireland payroll experience who wants to progress into a broader global payroll position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting end-to-end payroll processing across multiple jurisdictions
  • Processing employee timesheets, salaries, allowances, bonuses and deductions
  • Managing payroll information for starters, leavers and employee changes
  • Liaising with local payroll providers and external advisers
  • Reviewing payroll reports and resolving discrepancies
  • Completing payroll reconciliations and variance checks
  • Preparing payroll journals and supporting month-end reporting
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential employee payroll records
  • Responding to payroll queries from employees and managers
  • Working closely with HR, Finance and Global Mobility teams
  • Supporting the administration of employee benefits
  • Ensuring payroll deadlines are consistently met
  • Assisting with payroll audits and compliance requirements
  • Supporting payroll process improvements across different regions

Previous Experience

  • Previous end-to-end payroll experience
  • Experience processing payroll for the UK, Ireland or wider international regions
  • Exposure to multi-country or EMEA payroll would be highly desirable
  • Experience working with outsourced payroll providers or external bureaus
  • Strong understanding of payroll reconciliations, deductions and reporting
  • Experience processing starters, leavers, bonuses, benefits and employee changes
  • Strong Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables and reconciliations
  • Experience using payroll or HR systems such as Workday, ADP, SD Worx, Sage, SAP or Oracle
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and confidence liaising across different departments and locations
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
