An outstanding opportunity for an experienced Accounts professional to join a local accounts team in the Lisburn/Hillsborough area.
About the Job
Reporting to the Directors, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of the company's accounts function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deadline management across the full client book: VAT returns, PAYE and CIS filings, accounts and corporation tax deadlines, self-assessment, Companies House.
- Running workflows in Client Engager, keeping job statuses accurate and chasing jobs through to completion.
- Owning the Client Master File as the single source of truth on clients, services, fees and deadlines, and keeping it reconciled with Client Engager.
- Client onboarding administration: engagement letters, AML and identity checks, authorisations, professional clearance.
- Allocating and scheduling work across the team, spotting bottlenecks before they become late filings.
- Chasing clients for records and information, and keeping the directors informed on what is stuck and why.
- Supporting billing and work in progress reporting.
Skills and Experience:
- Bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients.
- Preparation of year-end accounts and monthly/quarterly management reporting packs.
- Preparation and submission of personal, partnership and Company tax returns.
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns.
- Reviewing the work of more junior team members and giving clear feedback.
- General accountancy office tasks as they arise.
