HireGiant are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV vehicle technician for a well-established business based in Enslow, Oxfordshire.

Specific:

  • To carry out scheduled servicing and maintenance of HGV fleet in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations.
  • To prepare vehicles for MOT tests and take them to the test site.
  • To complete job sheets and maintain vehicle service records.
  • To undertake roadside maintenance/repairs.
  • To maintain a lean and tidy working environment.
  • To dispose of waste oils, fluids, and scrap in the correct manner.
  • To wear correct clothing and PPE as issued by the company.
  • To follow all relevant regulations and safe working practices.
  • To be able to work alone without supervision but help in other areas of the business as required.
  • To undertake any job-specific training.
  • Any other duties as reasonably required.

General:

  • To comply with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and observe the additional requirements of the Company's Health and Safety Policy.
  • To comply with all aspects of the Competitions Act 1999.
  • To comply with all aspects of the Bribery Act 2010.
  • To ensure the business/operations are performed in accordance with company policies, guidelines, procedures, and the employee handbook.
  • To help maintain company security and prevent fraudulent activity taking place.
  • To maintain and strive to improve company image in all actions and communications, both internally and externally.
  • To always act in the best interests of the company.

Hours and pay:

The hourly rate of pay is £15.72; this is made up of 40 hours per week paid at basic and 7.5 hours per week paid at time and a half. The working hours are week 1 Monday to Friday 6am to 4pm and week 2 Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm.
