Are you an experienced Employee Relations specialist or operational HR Manager who enjoys being hands-on, part of a close team, and genuinely making a difference day-to-day? Our client are looking for a practical, people-focused HR professional to join their small, collaborative team based in Redditch. This is a broad operational role supporting their Support Centre and branch network ideal for someone who enjoys doing the do, coaching managers, and being a trusted sounding board across the business. Experience within wholesale, distribution, or a multi-site environment would be a distinct advantage.
About the Role
This is a varied and commercially focused HR/ER role where you'll play a key part in supporting manager capability, employee relations, engagement and people processes. You'll act as first-line support to the HR Advisor and be one of the go-to people for all things employee relations and operational HR.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading operational HR and employee relations activity across head office and branches
- Coaching managers through disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance processes
- Supporting and developing underperforming managers to improve capability and confidence
- Upskilling people managers through practical guidance, toolkits, and delivering workshops
- Overseeing recruitment delivery and ensuring a positive onboarding experience
- Managing HR systems, people data, policies and maintaining the company handbook
- Supporting people-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
You'll likely be:
- An experienced ER Specialist or HR Manager
- Have strong case management experience (essential)
- Confident advising managers at all levels in a pragmatic and commercially balanced way
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, operational environment
- A natural coach who builds strong relationships and credibility quickly
- Organised, resilient and solutions-focused
- Happy working as part of a small, close-knit team where collaboration matters
- CIPD qualification (or equivalent experience).
