As the new Head of Additional Learning Support you will influence college-wide strategy and make a meaningful difference to the lives of young people every day.
Location: Weybridge (Surrey) and it's easily commutable from Ashford, Woking, Guildford, Kingston upon Thames, Epsom, Staines-upon-Thames, Chertsey and the surrounding areas. You will also need a driving licence as occasional travel between sites is required.
Salary: £48,687.93 with excellent benefits that include an excellent pension, generous holiday entitlement, professional development and the opportunity to lead a well-established ALS service.
This role requires you to:
- Lead the Additional Learning Support (ALS) team, including two ALS Leads, LSAs and an ALS Administrator.
- Drive the college's SEND strategy and provision growth alongside the Director of Student Services.
- Oversee EHCPs, High Needs provision, Exam Access Arrangements (EAA) and JCQ compliance.
- Build strong relationships with curriculum teams, parents, local authorities and external agencies.
- Use data and quality improvement initiatives to enhance learner outcomes and inclusion.
- Maximise funding and manage the budget allocated for ALS and SEND provision.
You will bring:
- Experience from an FE or school setting as a Head of ALS, SENCO, Deputy SENCO or similar SEND leadership role.
- A Level 5 SEND qualification or degree (or equivalent experience).
- Strong knowledge of High Needs funding, EHCPs and SEND legislation.
- The confidence and enthusiasm to lead your team, whilst managing complex learner support and working collaboratively with external partners.
- Inspirational leadership skills with a passion for inclusive education and the experience to help every learner reach their full potential.
