They're now looking for an exceptional leader to join them as Assistant Director of Compliance & Building Safety - a critical role that will shape how they deliver safety, compliance, and customer assurance across their organisation.

About the Role

As Assistant Director of Compliance and Building Safety, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership across compliance, building safety, and managing agent services. You'll ensure they meet and exceed regulatory obligations while delivering excellent, customer-focused safety services. From leading compliance programmes to shaping their "Building a Safer Future" approach, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring every customer feels safe in their home.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading their approach to asset compliance and building safety, covering gas, electrical, fire, asbestos, legionella, lifts, and more
  • Ensuring 100% compliance through robust systems, data (the "golden thread"), and performance monitoring
  • Driving a zero-tolerance culture for health and safety risks
  • Overseeing procurement and contract management, ensuring strong performance and value for money
  • Acting as a key contact with the Building Safety Regulator
  • Developing KPIs and early warning indicators to manage and improve performance
  • Leading high-performing teams and supply chains, embedding a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Managing budgets and ensuring efficient, cost-effective delivery
  • Supporting delivery of their Asset Management Strategy and long-term investment plans

About you

  • CIH Level 5 (or equivalent with CIH top-ups), or willingness to work towards
  • Extensive experience in construction or a related field, with a strong track record of managing compliance and safety across large property portfolios
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop high-performing teams
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • In-depth knowledge of compliance and health & safety regulations
  • Demonstrated experience managing substantial budgets and delivering value through effective procurement
  • Excellent negotiation, decision-making, and communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex situations and build effective stakeholder relationships
  • Strong IT literacy, including MS Office and asset management systems
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use
