Car Park Officers play an essential role in ensuring our car parks are well maintained, safe and welcoming for all our customers and users. This will involve carrying out routine cleaning duties such as litter collection, sweeping and emptying bins, alongside regular inspections of sites and associated infrastructure. You will monitor the condition and operation of parking equipment, carry out basic maintenance and fault-finding where appropriate, and report any defects requiring further attention.
As part of the role, you will support wider maintenance activities including minor repairs, vegetation management and line marking, while accurately recording inspections and updates using a mobile device. You will also provide assistance and guidance to members of the public, responding to enquiries professionally and helping to resolve issues in a timely manner.
The role is varied, working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and requires travel across the district to undertake inspections and operational duties, ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety procedures. Overall, you will contribute to delivering an efficient, high-quality parking service for residents, businesses and visitors.
You will work on a rota basis across a full week (Monday – Sunday). Working hours could be between 7am – 7pm.
We are looking for a reliable, self-motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team. The successful candidate will be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, using their own initiative to prioritise tasks and maintain high standards across multiple sites.
You will be practical, organised and willing to undertake a variety of duties in an outdoor environment throughout the year. Experience of carrying out routine maintenance, cleaning or grounds maintenance tasks would be advantageous.
A full, clean UK driving licence is desirable, as the role involves travelling between sites across the district. You will take pride in maintaining clean, safe and welcoming car parks and be committed to delivering a high-quality service for residents and visitors alike.
You should have good basic IT skills and be confident using mobile devices and computer-based systems in order to complete inspection reports, record information and operate parking management equipment.
