There are 5 offices in London, Birmingham, Devon, Bristol and Gloucester.
We are looking for an Experienced new build Conveyancer/Chartered Legal Executive/Licensed Conveyancer/Solicitor supporting the Team Leader in the Residential New Homes Department representing buyers of new build properties from national housebuilders together with any related sales and part-exchanges.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To carry out and be responsible for day-to-day conduct and all aspects of new build purchases and any related sale files and part exchanges.
- Day to day supervision of support staff and others that may be working immediately for you.
- To assist senior members of the Department/unit with substantial case files and to exhibit flexibility, particularly in times of holiday/sickness and the housebuilders busy months.
- To apply proper professional standards.
- Gaining an awareness of the provisions of the office manual and observing best practice in the prevention of claims against the firm for professional negligence and in particular operating with a high degree of personal organisation.
- To demonstrate an awareness of clients’ needs and perceptions to the discharge of your work for them and to act promptly, pro-actively and efficiently in relation to all client matters.
- To achieve legitimate billing in line with figures to be agreed with the Department/Unit Head.
- To comply with all other departmental procedures including the regulation and control client indebtedness.
- To maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the law in your areas of specialisation and to comply with the continuing professional Residential New Homes requirements.
- To seek to develop and improve the quality of your workload and level of your expertise.
- To maintain a cordial and co-operative attitude to other members of the firm.
Education/Qualifications:
- Solicitor or FCILEx qualified or relevant substantial experience in conveyancing (essential)
- 3 years+ PQE (desirable)
Skills/Knowledge:
- Experience within new build homes
- Experience with all aspects of property sales
- Experience with people management
- Possess a detailed understanding of Property Law
- Ability to maintain and build upon existing client relationships.
- Support the Team Leader
- The ability to take on a supervisory role in the absence of the Team Leader, and to be able to mentor/assist others in the team.
