About the Role

As an RQF Centre Assessor, you will support learners through their qualification journey, ensuring high‑quality assessment, guidance and progression. You will operate within a live care and education environment, supporting real practice and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Assess knowledge and competency‑based qualifications through observation, professional discussion and portfolio evidence.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to support learner development.
  • Monitor and track learner progress, ensuring timely achievement of qualifications.
  • Build effective relationships with managers to support workforce development.
  • Manage a caseload, plan assessments and maintain accurate records.
  • Support the delivery of learning sessions where required.
  • Contribute to quality assurance processes and maintain compliance with awarding body standards.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Recognised assessor qualification (A1 or equivalent).
  • Experience assessing vocational qualifications within health, social care or education.
  • Ability to assess workplace practice and evidence effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines.

Desirable:

  • Internal quality assurance qualification (or willingness to work towards).
  • Experience within residential childcare or learning disability settings.
  • Experience delivering training or facilitating learning.
