Are you a resilient Health & Safety professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, operational environment? Working for a market‑leading manufacturing and logistics company, with sites all around the UK, you will be covering sites in the Hull / Grimsby area. This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit behind a desk all day. We need a strong character: someone who can navigate a demanding manufacturing environment, hold their own with senior site management, and drive a safety‑first culture.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Being a visible lead for all things Health, Safety, Environmental and Fire, such as delivering toolbox talks and training sessions, providing advice and guidance to managers.
  • Monitoring site compliance, against company policy but also against the ISO 9001 / 14001 standards that the sites are accredited with.
  • Conducting risk assessments and inspections, accident investigations, producing reports and statistics.

A competitive basic salary is on offer plus fuel paid for site travel (45p per mile) and company benefits including life assurance cover, health and wellbeing services, pension scheme, staff discounts and more! Working hours Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm, you will primarily be based at your 'home' site on the outskirts of Hull then at Grimsby once per week.

What you need to bring:

  • Ability to lead with confidence, and work autonomously – while you have an amazing manager, he covers the whole of the UK, so you're the main H&S lead on site day–to–day.
  • NEBOSH General certificate as a minimum requirement (other qualifications like IOSH, IEMA, Lead Auditor, etc. are a bonus but not essential).
  • Experience working in a similar type of industry / environment e.g. Manufacturing, Engineering, Logistics.
  • Given the nature of the operation, an understanding of Environmental impacts and how to improve (maybe you'll be IEMA accredited?).
  • Ideally you will have experience in Fire safety management and conducting Fire Risk Assessments.
  • Having the right style and approach is valued far higher than a long list of certificates. If you have the grit to lead the safety culture on a busy site, and the strength of character to win over a tough crowd, then we want to hear from you!
