Matthew loves to be busy and active, getting out and about in the local community. Routine and structure is important; predictability is key to ensure that he can live his best life. He enjoys interacting with people who are energetic, pro‑active, have a sense of fun and will banter with him. You will work closely with Matthew to ensure that his time is spent doing the things that matter to him as well as discovering new things to do. Being active such as going for walks and swimming, going to the zoo, trying new ways of getting around such as buses, trains and supporting use of technology.

You will also work closely with Matthew’s family and advocates to ensure that his support is co‑produced. Experience providing support to adults with learning disabilities and autism is desirable but wanting to learn is essential. Training will be given to enhance your knowledge of supporting people with challenging behaviour, working with their PBS plan and PBS practitioners to proactively support Matthew to have a good quality of life.

After a short transition, you’ll be part of a 24/7 support service. Looking for flexibility? Our zero‑hour bank contracts give you the freedom to work when it suits you.

Location: Postcode IP11 – Trimley, St Mary which offers free parking and good access to local transport, however in the initial stages you will be learning about Matthew alongside his hospital staff team, located IP3 8LY.

About You: Experience working with adults with learning disabilities and autism is essential - but they’re open‑minded about what that looks like. You might have helped care for a family member or have experience from a paid role. Either way, they would love to hear from you. You will be provided with all required training; a full induction will be given to ensure you have the right tools to be the best Support Worker and be confident in providing support.
