We are looking for a versatile Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join the team at this specialist manufacturing site in Ramsey - midway between Huntingdon and Peterborough. In this role, you will be the primary contact for both electrical and mechanical maintenance, ensuring the plant and equipment stay in top shape to keep production moving. If you enjoy a mix of electrical and mechanical work, from PLC fault finding to fixing conveyors and gearboxes, this is the perfect role for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Getting stuck into both electrical and mechanical breakdowns to keep downtime to a minimum.
- Diagnosing and fixing faults in PLC systems, control panels, motors, and sensors.
- Handling mechanical repairs on conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and drive systems.
- Carrying out regular service tasks (PPM) to ensure everything runs safely and reliably.
- Helping to install and set up new machinery and automation upgrades.
- Making sure all work is done safely by following lock-off (LOTO) procedures and site safety rules.
- Suggesting ways to improve machinery and stop the same faults from happening twice.
What You Need
- A time-served Engineering apprenticeship or a similar qualification.
- Solid experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong technical skills in both electrical fault finding and mechanical repairs.
- The ability to read and understand electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- A logical approach to solving complex problems when a machine goes down.
- An 18th Edition certification is definitely a plus.
