We are looking for a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading manufacturing specialist in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for ensuring maximum uptime and operational efficiency through expert fault finding, repair, and proactive maintenance.
You will support a fast-paced production environment by diagnosing complex electrical issues and contributing to long-term reliability projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Responding to electrical breakdowns quickly to minimise production downtime.
- Diagnosing and repairing faults in PLC systems, control panels, drives, motors, and sensors.
- Carrying out scheduled electrical Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks.
- Ensuring all activities are performed safely by following full LOTO procedures and site safety protocols.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records and supporting condition-based monitoring.
- Actively contributing to automation upgrades and efficiency improvement projects.
- Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new plant equipment.
What You Need
- A time-served Electrical apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications.
- Solid experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong technical competence in fault finding on PLCs, inverters, and control systems.
- The ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics.
- An analytical approach to problem-solving and diagnosing technical faults.
- 18th Edition certification is highly desirable.
