A leading UK wholesaler with branches across the UK and Ireland is seeking a Warehouse Operative / Driver to join its Birmingham team. This varied role combines warehouse operations with customer deliveries and would suit someone who enjoys a hands-on position with plenty of variety and customer interaction.

Based in Birmingham, this Warehouse Operative / Driver position is easily commutable from Aston, Birmingham City Centre, Erdington, Perry Barr, Handsworth, Great Barr, Smethwick, West Bromwich, Castle Bromwich, Stechford, Small Heath, Yardley, Sutton Coldfield and surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering goods to customers using company vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes
  • Planning delivery routes and communicating delivery updates to customers
  • Carrying out daily vehicle checks and ensuring vehicles remain clean and roadworthy
  • Safely loading and unloading deliveries, including some heavy lifting
  • Picking, packing and checking customer orders accurately
  • Maintaining accurate delivery records and documentation
  • Following all health and safety procedures and using PPE provided

You will bring to the role:

  • A full UK driving licence
  • Previous experience within a warehouse, stores, delivery or logistics environment
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • A reliable, organised approach with excellent attention to detail
  • A Forklift Truck Licence would be advantageous, although training can be provided for the right candidate.
