Warehouse Supervisor
Duties & Responsibilities
This is a hands-on role, you will be an integral part of the site Leadership Team and will manage all daily yard, sawing, warehousing & operational activities, driving process and operational efficiencies and coordinate all goods in and picking operations, ensuring, and improving a level of productivity, profitability and efficiency which meets the site’s business requirements to exacting health and safety, quality, and customer delivery performance parameters, this includes
Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5pm.
- Supervisor the Team Leaders and to continually achieve and wherever possible exceed productivity, customer service and quality target levels across the range activities undertaken by the site.
- To develop a “safety-first” approach within Operations and embed a culture of continuous improvement.
- To ensure that a strong customer-focus is created throughout the site and sustained, through standardised application of lean techniques.
- To improve all yard /site processes from order receipt through to the fulfilment of customer deliverables.
- To drive organisational improvements at every level across the site, taking responsibility, and accountability for performance management of all relevant staff
- Ensure that all warehouse staff are working effectively, and site is maintained at the highest standard.
- Ensuring the operational capacity, including processing and distribution, satisfies customer requirements both current and projected; that sites operate effectively for storage and agreed goods in procedures to maintain the integrity of stock.
- Maintain and recommend improvements as necessary to the condition and performance of site.
- Maintain site security and protect assets to limit liability and minimise loss.
- Role Requirements
- A safety focused attitude and experience of managing safety, quality, and group policies.
- NEBOSH or IOSH managing safety qualification
- Previous experience in a similar supervisory role within an Operational environment with demonstratable experience in manging people up to and inclusive of disciplinary processes.
- Possess good written and verbal communication skills as well as IT based understanding.
- Demonstratable implemented evidence and substantial understanding of lean manufacturing processes.
- A full Uk driving licence.
