A salary of up to £39,700 is available depending on qualifications and experience, alongside an attractive benefits package and generous holiday entitlement. This role is full-time, 37 hours per week, and based at a campus location within Surrey with good transport links from surrounding areas.
What you'll be doing...
- Deliver engaging, high-quality Maths lessons across GCSE (9-1) and Functional Skills programmes to a varied group of learners at different stages of their education.
- Track, assess and record learner progress, providing the data and returns needed to support course management and learner achievement.
- Collaborate with your department team to develop, review and evaluate the maths curriculum, keeping course content relevant and impactful.
- Embed employability skills, including literacy, numeracy and IT, meaningfully into your lessons, giving learners practical tools for the workplace.
- Represent the department at Open Evenings and Parents' Evenings to support learner recruitment and strengthen relationships with prospective students.
What you need to bring...
- A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
- A teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) or a genuine willingness to work towards one, with funding and support provided by the college.
- Practical knowledge of GCSE 9-1 Maths planning and delivery; experience with Functional Skills is a real advantage.
- Strong IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office to produce learning materials and maintain student records accurately.
- The ability to communicate clearly, motivate learners, and take ownership of your workload.
