Are you an ambitious engineer looking to develop your career in one of the UK’s most exciting renewable energy sectors? We are looking for a Junior Plant Maintenance Engineer to join a high-performing anaerobic digestion operation, supporting the safe, reliable, and cost-effective running of the plant while developing your mechanical, electrical and process engineering skills.
This role would suit someone who is working as or keen to become a Junior Biogas Plant Engineer, Junior Aerobic Digestion Engineer, Junior Maintenance Engineer or Junior Site Maintenance Engineer. Working alongside the Site Manager and experienced Operations team, you’ll play a hands-on role in maintaining critical plant and equipment, supporting planned preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns and helping maximise biogas production and power generation.
You will receive structured engineering training and development, with the opportunity to progress your technical qualifications and become part of the Duty Manager team, including remote monitoring and out-of-hours operational support.
Location: Rushden, Northamptonshire - commutable from Northampton, Wellingborough, Bedford, Kettering, Corby
Salary: up to £33k base salary plus great employee benefits
Hours: 42 hours per week on a rota, plus remote monitoring.
We are looking for someone with a genuine aptitude for engineering, whether mechanical, electrical, or controls-based, who is practical, proactive, safety-conscious and eager to learn. Previous plant, manufacturing, agricultural, energy or maintenance experience would be advantageous.
A full UK driving licence is required, with forklift, banksman or relevant safety training desirable.
