Would you like to join a growing Electromechanical product design and manufacturing business, looking for a hands-on Systems Design Engineer who can bridge the gap between physical products and smart technology? This role covers the specification, sourcing, testing and validation of smart connected devices and sensors, making sure connected features work reliably before products reach the market.

Location: Basildon, Essex. Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 plus benefits package. Working arrangement: hybrid, 2 to 3 days in the office per week.

What you'll be doing:

  • Specify, source and procure off-the-shelf smart / IoT devices, sensors and hardware systems that meet product requirements.
  • Design and run DVT/PVT testing protocols to validate smart technologies under real-world conditions.
  • Troubleshoot integration issues across physical, electronic and data interfaces.
  • Act as the technical point of contact for hardware suppliers, test labs and manufacturing vendors.
  • Maintain accurate validation logs, schematics and component specification sheets.

What you need to bring:

  • A degree in Electrical, Electronic, Systems or Mechanical engineering, or equivalent practical experience with smart connected devices.
