The opportunity: Procurement Assistant (internally Sourcing Support). Want to join one of the world's most ethical companies? Are you looking to start a career in procurement? As a Sourcing Support, you will be responsible for working with the Procurement Team to support the finalisation of contract documents and will provide assistance throughout the contract process across multiple categories. In this role, you will also liaise with suppliers, develop internal and external relationships, identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.

DUTIES (included, but not limited to):

  • Category Knowledge: Understands or demonstrates an aptitude to learn the product categories assigned and how end-users interface with the products/services including but not limited to product features and benefits, product comparisons between supplier offerings and impact on healthcare providers in deriving value through conversion opportunities.
  • Supplier Knowledge: With guidance from manager, uses knowledge about supplier to execute strategies, create leverage, and mitigate risks.
  • Strategy Development, Validation and Risk Mitigation: For assigned categories, develops the strategy with the support of their manager, seeking guidance for risk issues and agreeing on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Sourcing Process: Presents category strategies and final awards to internal stakeholders for review and discussion, prior to being validated by members. Undertakes a pre-assessment of award scenarios and utilises outputs to inform sourcing strategies for assigned categories. Utilises knowledge of procurement processes to determine appropriate procurement approaches required to deliver required value for all stakeholders.
  • Supplier and Customer Relationship Management: Oversees the supplier relationship during the sourcing process. Participates in supplier business reviews and reviews new products/technologies/services as they arise in assigned categories. Builds and nurtures effective customer relationships through frequent interactions and engagement activities.
