HGV Drivers - Refuse & Recycling Collection - Local routes

£17.47 an hour. Higher rates for weekends and overtime.

The role of HGV Refuse Drivers:

  • Drive along designated routes to collect refuse and recycling waste.
  • Check routes for safety restrictions, planned roadworks, and traffic to ensure smooth operations.
  • Complete all required paperwork, including job logs and incident reports.
  • Perform daily vehicle checks and report any issues promptly.
  • Adhere to site rules and regulations, including correct PPE usage.

Hours: Monday to Friday with potential evening and weekend overtime. Choose between AM or PM shifts:

  • AM Shifts: Start at 5:00 AM, 6:00 AM, or 7:00 AM
  • PM Shifts: 12:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Approx. 6.5 hours per shift.

The ideal HGV Refuse Drivers:

  • Valid HGV license.
  • Minimum 6 months HGV driving experience.
  • Ability to complete enhanced compliance checks (Right to Work, references, proof of address, National Insurance number, etc.).
