This is a contractual position leading a nursery room team in a healthcare and early education setting. The role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with childcare regulations, and delivering high-quality care to infants and toddlers. The work directly supports the developmental needs of young children and contributes to a safe, nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and evaluate daily care routines for children aged 0-3 years in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Supervise a team of nursery assistants, delegating tasks and providing on-the-job guidance to maintain staff performance.
- Monitor children’s health, safety, and well-being, including hygiene practices and emergency response procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, developmental progress, and incident reports in line with licensing requirements.
- Collaborate with parents and external agencies to support children’s learning and developmental milestones.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in early childhood education or nursery care, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Valid certification in pediatric first aid and safeguarding children, or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework or equivalent national standards.
- Strong communication skills to engage with parents, staff, and regulatory bodies in a professional manner.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
