Role Overview
We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking a Lifeguard to work on a contractual basis. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include ensuring the safety of pool patrons by monitoring water conditions and enforcing facility rules. This role is critical in maintaining a secure environment for individuals across healthcare, hospitality, or educational settings where swimming is part of programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor pool and water conditions to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Respond immediately to emergencies, including performing rescues and administering first aid or CPR as needed.
- Enforce facility rules to prevent accidents, such as prohibiting running or diving in shallow areas.
- Inspect and maintain rescue equipment, including life rings, poles, and first aid kits, ensuring they are accessible and functional.
- Complete incident reports and maintain accurate records of daily activities, including any safety incidents or violations.
- Coordinate with facility staff to ensure a safe environment for all patrons, including during special events or high‑traffic periods.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Current certification in lifeguarding from a recognized organization such as the American Red Cross, YMCA, or equivalent.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certification, with recertification maintained as required by the certifying body.
- Proven ability to remain vigilant for extended periods while maintaining focus and physical readiness.
- Strong communication skills to effectively instruct patrons and collaborate with team members during emergencies.
- Physical fitness to perform rescues, including swimming up to 50 meters and lifting individuals from the water.
