Role Overview
We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking a Chef to work on a contractual basis in a high-volume kitchen environment. This role involves preparing and plating meals according to standardized recipes while maintaining strict hygiene and safety standards. The position supports daily operations for a facility serving diverse dietary requirements, requiring precision and efficiency under deadline-driven conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes to ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, work surfaces, and storage areas in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Follow established food preparation and storage procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure adherence to allergen protocols.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and notify management of shortages or excesses to support procurement planning.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation schedules and accommodate last-minute menu adjustments.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of professional cooking experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Proficiency in using kitchen equipment such as ovens, stovetops, and industrial mixers.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling, storage, and disposal methods.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.
- Valid food handler certification or equivalent qualification recognized in the location.
