Hirecracker Education are working with a Special Educational Needs School in Winsford supporting children with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), autism, and complex care needs. We are seeking compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join the team, providing personalised support to pupils to help them access learning, develop independence, and thrive in a safe and structured environment.
- Supporting pupils with SLD, PMLD, autism, and complex care needs in the classroom, tailoring approaches to individual sensory, communication, and learning requirements
- Delivering 1:1 or small group interventions focused on personalised learning, social skills, communication, and emotional regulation
- Supporting pupils' social, emotional, behavioural, and health needs using positive reinforcement and consistent strategies
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive peer interactions through tailored support
- Helping maintain a calm, safe, and structured classroom environment that promotes focus, engagement, and inclusion
Requirements:
- Experience supporting children with SLD, PMLD, autism, or complex care needs in school, care, mental health, social care, therapeutic, community settings or other relevant fields
- Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting children with complex needs
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to adapt approaches to individual pupils
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
