An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HR Business Partner to join a well-established UK retail organisation operating at scale across a large multi-site estate. Working closely with senior retail leadership, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the people strategy, driving engagement, and building leadership capability across the region.

The Role
As HR Business Partner, you will act as a strategic partner to senior operational leaders, supporting the delivery of the People Plan and ensuring people initiatives align closely with wider business objectives. This role is predominantly field based, supporting a large retail population across the South of England, with regular travel to stores, one day per week working from home, and occasional travel to the head office.
HR Business Partner Responsibilities:
- Partner with senior retail leaders to deliver the people and engagement strategy
- Coach, influence, and challenge leaders on performance management, capability, and culture
- Identify talent at all levels and develop robust succession and development plans
- Use people data and insight to influence decisions across retention, absence, engagement, and workforce planning
- Act as a point of escalation for complex HR case management, ensuring policy and employment law compliance
- Collaborate closely with central HR specialists across reward, learning & development, and workforce planning
- Support and embed organisational change initiatives to maximise engagement and retention
- Drive employee engagement through the effective use of internal feedback tools and insight
HR Business Partner Requirements:
- Proven experience operating as an HR Business Partner within a fast-paced, operational environment
- Strong commercial mindset with the confidence to influence and challenge senior stakeholders
- Sound working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
- Experience supporting multi-site or field-based populations (retail, hospitality, logistics, or similar)
- Confident using HR systems and people data to drive insight-led decisions
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent)
- Retail or consumer-facing industry experience
