The Assistant Fleet Engineering Manager Role:

You'll support the Fleet Engineer in ensuring the safety, performance, and reliability of a specialist vehicle fleet. This is a hands-on and varied role, combining technical oversight with supplier management and compliance. You'll be involved in maintaining fleet standards, supporting incident investigations, and helping shape maintenance strategies to ensure vehicles remain roadworthy, compliant, and cost-effective. The role will also require travel across sites, with occasional overnight stays.

Essential Skills:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in HGV engineering and maintenance
  • Strong understanding of transport legislation and compliance (ADR knowledge advantageous)
  • Experience supporting fleet operations and maintenance strategies
  • Confident IT skills and ability to manage data effectively
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proactive, organised, and able to manage workload independently
  • Full UK driving licence
