Hirecracker Education are working with a Special Educational Needs School in Northwich supporting children with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), autism, and complex care needs. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join the team, providing personalised support to pupils to help them access learning, develop independence, and thrive in a safe and structured environment.

What you'll be doing:
- Supporting pupils with SLD, PMLD, autism, and complex care needs in the classroom, tailoring approaches to individual sensory, communication, and learning requirements
- Delivering 1:1 or small group interventions focused on personalised learning, social skills, communication, and emotional regulation
- Assisting teachers in planning and implementing structured, accessible, and inclusive lessons
- Supporting pupils' social, emotional, behavioural, and health needs using positive reinforcement and consistent strategies
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive peer interactions through tailored support
- Helping maintain a calm, safe, and structured classroom environment that promotes focus, engagement, and inclusion
Requirements:
- Experience supporting children with SLD, PMLD, autism, or complex care needs in school, care, mental health, social care, therapeutic, community settings or other relevant fields
- Knowledge of autism-specific strategies, communication approaches, and sensory needs
- Understanding of personalised learning approaches and complex care requirements
- Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting children with complex needs
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to adapt approaches to individual pupils
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
