This role will lead in implementing our diversity, inclusion and belonging (DI&B) roadmap and in building out learning and development pathways for our people. In addition, as part of a small team, you will bring generalist HR experience and contribute to delivering the wider objectives for the People Team as a whole. We’re looking for someone who brings a passion for building inclusive systems that support everyone to thrive, uses data-driven insights to inform decisions and measure impact, engages and aligns effectively with stakeholders and gets things done in a busy team.
DI&B Delivery:
- Lead the implementation of the agreed DI&B roadmap, ensuring strategic goals are met.
- Support the Head of People to integrate DI&B best practices into policies and processes, contributing directly to delivering the People Plan objectives.
- Lead key initiatives to support a culture of learning and development, which includes taking ownership and maximising the use and results of the Trust’s learning system, and devising competency frameworks.
- Tailor training to address specific audiences, from individual contributors to leaders.
- Establish a framework for our DI&B values, ensuring they are integrated into all aspects of the organisation.
Learning and Development:
- Oversee the development of focus groups, ensuring they are aligned with the DI&B strategy.
- Deliver, evaluate and support the design of DI&B training programs, including workshops, e-learning modules, and facilitated discussions.
- Champion our new learning platform to cultivate a learning culture by effectively managing and promoting its usage.
- Provide guidance and resources to leaders, helping them drive engagement and impact.
- Identify and address any areas of concern or conflict related to inclusion and diversity within the company.
- Promote and oversee the development process, including career conversations and regular 1-1s to ensure continuous support and communication.
- Build individual competency frameworks to support the new salary banding process and career progression.
General HR Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the resolution of employee relations, ensuring alignment with policies and fostering a supportive workplace environment.
- Support line managers across recruitment, onboarding, performance and pay.
- Be a trusted first point of contact for HR queries.
- Support the Head of People in driving initiatives to improve wellbeing, employee engagement, retention, and development.
Ways of working:
- Analyse DI&B-related data to track progress, measure impact, and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop dashboards and reports for leadership, highlighting key DI&B metrics and trends.
- Working with HR systems, templates, and sensitive data.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the People Team, Inclusive Talent Engagement Team, focus groups, and senior leadership.
- Influence and engage stakeholders at all levels to gain buy-in and support for DI&B initiatives.
The Person Skills and experience:
- We are looking for someone with a curious mind who wants to progress their career and has:
- Strong HR generalist – Ideally Level 5 CIPD.
- Experience as a Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Lead - working with focus groups, employee engagement initiatives, and delivering change.
- Strong influencing skills with experience in engaging with varied and senior stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Highly organised and responsive and able to work autonomously to tight deadlines.
- A clear understanding of the broad DI&B agenda within and beyond the creative sector and its impact on the workforce, workplace, visitors and community and an ability to promote this to others, staying informed of the latest developments.
- Empathetic and able to build trust and rapport with diverse groups.
- Ability to build relationships to achieve required outcomes and make recommendations.
- Curious and proactive with a commitment to continuous improvement.
