The Toolpusher is responsible for leading and supervising drilling and workover operations onboard a jack-up offshore drilling unit. The role ensures all operations are executed in alignment with the approved well program, applicable regulations, and industry best practices. The Toolpusher promotes safe, efficient, and productive operations while maintaining high standards of operational integrity and crew performance.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate drilling and workover operations to ensure compliance with approved procedures and programs.
- Ensure all activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable HSE standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership and direction to offshore personnel, fostering a strong safety culture and effective teamwork.
- Monitor operational performance and make timely decisions to mitigate risks, resolve issues, and optimize productivity.
- Oversee implementation of operational procedures, risk assessments, and safety management systems.
- Coordinate with onboard and onshore stakeholders to ensure effective communication and execution of operational objectives.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant work experience and demonstrated communication skills may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Valid offshore medical certificate (recognized international standard).
- Valid offshore safety and emergency response certification (e.g., BOSIET or equivalent).
- Valid Well Control certification at Supervisor level (Surface and/or Subsea BOP Stack) issued by an internationally recognized authority.
- Valid STCW Basic Safety Training certification or equivalent.
Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years of offshore drilling experience, including extensive experience in a Toolpusher or equivalent supervisory role.
- Proven experience managing multicultural and multinational offshore teams.
- Experience overseeing multifunctional crews in complex offshore drilling environments.
