The Senior Turnover Engineer is responsible for managing and supporting completion, mechanical completion, and system handover activities to ensure project assets are delivered safely, compliantly, and ready for commissioning and operations.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the focal point for project turnover and completions activities, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of all handover documentation.
- Administer and maintain the Completions Management System (CMS), including system setup, tag management, inspection record control, punch list tracking, mechanical completion (MC) and system handover (SH) status monitoring, and change management.
- Support engineering and procurement phases by ensuring completion-related requirements such as documentation, tag registers, test packs, and completion data are incorporated early to align with construction, MC, and commissioning needs.
- Work closely with EPC contractors and internal construction teams to coordinate mechanical completion activities, including walkdowns, punch list closure, certification, and formal handover.
- Prepare, compile, and review Mechanical Completion and Commissioning Handover Dossiers to ensure compliance with project and operational requirements.
- Provide ongoing support to the Lead Completions Engineer and construction/commissioning teams across all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to construction, mechanical completion, and commissioning schedules by providing completions input and progress feedback.
- Deliver on-site support during construction, testing, and commissioning phases, including leak testing and system verification activities.
- Assist with training and system familiarisation for construction and commissioning personnel using the CMS.
- When required, deputise for senior completions personnel to ensure continuity during periods of absence.
Requirements:
- Minimum 15 years of hands-on experience in construction, hook-up, mechanical completion coordination, and project turnover.
- Diploma, National Certificate, or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline. Alternatively, NVQ Level 3 (or higher) with a completed technical apprenticeship in Oil & Gas, Energy, or Construction.
- Strong technical background in mechanical, piping, or completions disciplines.
