A fantastic opportunity to join the design team of a Birmingham based menswear brand as a Fashion Designer.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Researching current fashion trends and determining consumer preferences
  • Collaborating with the team to develop ideas for new products & ranges for upcoming seasons
  • Working with the design team to create mood boards
  • Selecting fabrics, trims, colours, patterns, and textures for each design
  • Creating tech packs with detailed specifications
  • Developing CADs for suppliers & to present to customers
  • Designing product tags & labels
  • Working with technical & production teams to ensure the highest quality final product
  • Maintaining relationships with suppliers
  • Communicating technical design information for customer samples
  • Attending & presenting at customer meetings
  • Opportunities for overseas travel

Required skills:

  • In depth knowledge of & passion for fashion design principles & trends
  • Keen eye for design & strong attention to detail
  • Strong capability in using Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in the clothing industry
  • The ideal Fashion Designer will have experience working across multiple product ranges such as tailoring, wovens & jersey.
  • Ability to understand & deliver results based upon the company's branding guidelines & ethos.
  • Competent in use of MS Office.
  • Strong grasp of spoken & written English.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently & as part of a team
  • Ability to work to deadlines
