Construction Manager
We're currently partnering with a leading UK construction business to appoint an experienced Construction Manager to support the delivery of a landmark commercial development in Cambridge.
This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional with a strong background in large-scale commercial projects to take ownership of key construction packages throughout the project lifecycle.
Working alongside Senior Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams, you'll lead the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of works from planning and coordination through to commissioning, snagging and final handover.
Depending on your experience, you'll oversee specialist packages including internal fit-out, CAT A works, washroom installations and other building delivery packages.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of assigned construction packages, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme and to the highest quality standards.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary site teams throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Manage construction sequencing, resolve technical issues and proactively mitigate programme risks.
- Collaborate closely with design, commercial and MEP teams to ensure effective project coordination.
- Monitor progress, quality, health & safety and productivity across your work areas.
- Oversee inspections, commissioning, snagging and final handover, ensuring a defect-free delivery.
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders while maintaining the highest construction standards.
About You
You'll be an experienced Construction Manager with
- Proven experience delivering large-scale commercial construction or fit-out projects for a main contractor.
- Experience managing construction packages from planning through to completion and handover.
- Strong knowledge of subcontractor management, construction sequencing and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A strong understanding of health & safety, quality assurance and programme management within complex construction environments.
- Relevant construction qualifications, with SMSTS and CSCS Manager Card considered highly desirable.
