HR Assistant - £28k to £35k + benefits - Construction & Property - Hertfordshire

A well established and award winning company in the property and construction industry is looking for a HR Assistant to join its team to support the Head of HR.

You will be part of the HR and Recruitment team, supporting with inductions, holidays, attendance, personnel records and reporting, pre-employment checks, leavers/starters, recruitment, etc.

You should have some experience within HR at Admin/Assistant level, as well as part CIPD qualified, or working towards it.

SALARY ETC

  • £28k to £35k, depending on experience, as well as various benefits.
  • Permanent, full-time.
  • Office based in the Hertfordshire / Potters Bar area.
  • Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm, with 30-minute lunch break.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Part CIPD qualified or working towards
  • Some experience in a similar role (HR Admin or HR Assistant)
  • Confidential and approachable, whilst being able to ensure accuracy and adhere to compliances.
  • Excellent administrative skills, and communication (written and spoken), with strong organisational abilities.
  • Happy with an office based role (may be able to consider occasional WFH after probation).
  • Reliable and willing to support the rest of the HR team as and when needed.

DUTIES TO INCLUDE

  • Carrying out pre-employment checks, including DBS checks for new members of staff.
  • Prepare the induction packs for new starters, as well as carry out inductions for new starters
  • Making sure new starters are added to systems/spreadsheets/personnel file set up.
  • Maintenance of the attendance spreadsheets and recording holidays, etc.
  • Liaising with Payroll in regards to absence and holidays to make sure data corresponds.
  • Updating and maintaining Personnel records/files.
  • Generating HR KPI reports for the HR Manager.
  • Processing leavers & conducting exit interviews.
  • Take minutes/notes for meetings where needed.
  • Liaising with Managers to make sure that probation reviews are carried out at the appropriate times.
  • Handling Maternity/Paternity process.
  • Assisting the HR Manager accumulate data for TUPE, as well as administrative needs.
  • Managing the process of driving license checks for employees with company vehicles.
  • Advising Managers on Company policies and procedures such as absence management, probations, performance and employee rights.
  • To assist with recruitment in the absence of the internal recruiter
