Temp to perm, paying £35,000 (£19.23 per hour). Working 35 hours per week. Hybrid, 1 to 2 days in the office. The rest remote, working from home. The office’s are near to Elephant and Castle.
This role sits at the heart of the organisation’s decision-making, working closely with the Governance Manager and Head of Governance. The Governance & Committees Officer ensures Council and Committee meetings run smoothly, decisions are well-supported and governance processes meet best-practice standards. You will provide high-quality secretariat support, act as a trusted point of contact for members and help strengthen effective corporate governance across the organisation.
- Organise Council and Committee meeting cycles and ensure papers are published accurately and on time.
- Act as Committee Secretary for allocated Committees and working groups, including preparing agendas and papers, attending meetings and producing accurate minutes.
- Brief Chairs and members on agendas, actions and procedural matters.
- Ensure decisions are clearly communicated, actions are tracked and progress is followed up.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of governance processes and best practice.
- Provide professional support to Council and Committee members, responding to queries and escalating issues as required.
- Coordinate the annual Council and Committee member appraisal process.
- Support public appointments campaigns and related administration.
- Maintain governance records, systems, inboxes and financial administration (expenses, invoices, purchase orders).
