This professional membership company / trade association is looking for someone who enjoys travelling and has Exhibition / Event sales experience, ideally with an engineering background, although not essential, as well as account management/business engagement and sales experience with a consultative selling technique determining member/prospective member pinch points and providing solutions to them that are within the scope of the company's services.
The appointed person will be on the road, covering the North (including Northern Ireland & Scotland), as well as attending a monthly meeting in London. Stability is important, as they would want someone to stay with them for at least 4 years due to the nature of their large exhibition and the need to build client relations in the lead-up to this.
SALARY ETC: £30k to £50k + commission + £8k car allowance + mileage & expenses. Optional Private Healthcare, Pension contribution, 25 days annual leave, paid sick leave, and maternity and wellbeing programme. Permanent, full-time Monday to Friday, mainly office-based hours, although flexibility is required when exhibitions are on or members/potential members are unable to meet within office hours. Start: ASAP, although happy to wait for the right person.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Exhibition sales experience/knowledge.
- Industry knowledge (Engineering) a strong advantage, but not essential.
- Happy to travel 4-5 days per week.
- A stable background in field sales, with the ability to illustrate longevity through previous employment.
- A driven individual with sound consultative sales experience.
- Ability to manage own diary.
- Must have own transport and enjoy travelling.
- Self-sufficient and motivated, with excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Happy to attend trade exhibitions and shows, representing the membership company.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
- To drive new business, selling membership and exhibition to relevant companies within the industry sector, in your given territory.
- To manage and develop relationships with existing members, as well as sell and promote membership services to member companies.
- To sell stand space for the industry exhibition and sell sponsorship to exhibition exhibitors.
- Visit members face to face, flexed to support the sales effort.
- Advise senior management on maximising business relationships and creating an environment where customer service can flourish.
- Produce detailed reports as required and on time, and update CRM records daily.
- Keep up to date with developments in the industry and make recommendations.
- Maximise member value from membership.
- Regularly visit members and encourage them to use services they aren’t using which would be beneficial to them.
- Update the CRM system with information gathered.
- Use New Business leads to sell Membership & Services to potential members and assist in growing Members.
- Manage all customer information updates and amendments via the CRM and customer contact.
