Housing Safety Compliance Officer – 18.06 per hour.
To provide health and safety monitoring support to the housing team. This will include maintaining and updating local and central health and safety records and carrying out local health and safety inspections. Along with checks using standard recording processes. Ensure tenants understand their health and safety obligations and support housing officers to take enforcement action as necessary.
Please note this organisation have a 4 day working week. Monday to Thursday. Paying a salary equivalent to for 4 days.
Specific Duties:
- Ensure central health and safety records such as fire safety, fire risk assessment and gas and electrical certificates are kept up to date.
- Carry out and record fire alarm tests and visual inspections of fire safety equipment, in shared housing properties.
- Provide support to Housing Officers to carry out actions noted on fire risk assessments, this will include engaging contractors and attending sites to admit contractors.
- Conduct 6 monthly health and safety checks of shared houses, using health and safety inspections procedures.
- Check that tenants are abiding by health and safety and fire policy and procedures.
- Report all health and safety breaches to the Head of Housing and support Housing Officers to take enforcement action. Including preparation of warning letters.
- Be proactive in establishing positive relationships, intervene at an early stage in potential health and safety breaches, and deliver a speedy and focused response to health and safety breaches of tenancy.
- Support The Head of Housing to update building risk assessments.
- Advise residents on health and safety and fire safety.
