The Role
We're looking for an experienced Contract Finance Business Analyst / Process Designer to join a high-profile operational transformation programme. Reporting into the Programme and Finance workstreams, this is an opportunity to play a key hands-on role in validating current-state processes, defining credible to-be processes, and shaping future AI-enabled workflows for our Transactional Finance wave. You’ll actively contribute to the design, engineering, and evolution of future-state finance workflows across Accounts Payable, bank reconciliation, and repayments. Your mission is to ensure the programme optimizes existing legacy SAP capabilities and ways of working before proposing custom builds, all while safeguarding a savings case.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate and refine existing as-is process flows for Accounts Payable, bank reconciliation, and repayments, mapping out pain points, controls, handoffs, and role effort.
- Design pragmatic future-state finance workflows that improve control, reduce manual effort, and tackle decentralized purchasing and spend visibility issues.
- Execute SAP optimization assessments, identifying where standard SAP functionality, configuration, or process discipline can address business needs without custom code.
- Define practical agentic AI and automation opportunities, building in required human-in-the-loop controls, exception handling, and safe fallback routes.
- Support the benefits baseline and sign-off logic, directly linking process changes to time saved, role impact, and run-rate savings.
- Produce delivery-ready backlogs, including clear business requirements, process maps, user stories, and acceptance criteria for engineering and platform teams.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders, running structured workshops across Finance SMEs, Procurement, Technology, and external platform partners.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Extensive hands-on finance process experience, with deep domain knowledge across AP/P2P (three-way matching), invoice processing, and bank reconciliations.
- Proven expertise mapping complex workflows, using BPMN, swimlanes, or equivalent process design notation to turn raw discovery data into structured blueprints.
- Practical SAP experience, ideally working with legacy SAP versions (ECC) where the primary focus is process optimization before custom tool selection.
- Commercial and benefits realization awareness, with a track record of connecting process improvements to hard metrics like role effort, headcount capacity, and run-rate savings.
- Experience identifying automation or AI use cases within finance, balancing digital process design with strict finance controls and segregation of duties.
- Ability to develop workflows iteratively, balancing short-term transactional pain points with long-term target operating model assumptions.
Equal Opportunities Statement
We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates. We actively encourage applications from women, ethnic minorities, and individuals with disabilities. We consider all flexible working arrangements, subject to the requirements of the role. Where reasonable adjustments are needed, we will strive to make changes to accommodate them.
