Hird is looking for experienced Slinger/Signallers to join our Machinery Moving team. Based at our Hull depot, you'll play a key role in supporting lifting operations across a variety of local and national projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Directing and coordinating the safe movement of loads during lifting operations, working closely with crane/machine operators and site personnel
- Selecting and attaching the correct lifting accessories (slings, chains, shackles etc.) for each load
- Carrying out pre-use checks on lifting equipment and accessories, reporting any defects
- Maintain clear communication with the lifting team at all times
- Ensuring all lifts are carried out in accordance with the lift plan and relevant health and safety regulations
- Supporting the wider Machine Moving team with general duties on site as required
- Travelling to sites across the UK for both local and national jobs
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Slinger Signaller, ideally within plant, machine moving, or construction environments
- Good working knowledge of safe lifting practices
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- A safety-first attitude and close attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel and work away when required for national projects
