Quality Control Technician - 12 month fixed term
An opportunity to work in a hands-on role where you will be maintaining a small laboratory and being trained to perform QC checks.
12 month fixed term, full-time role.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintain a high level of lab housekeeping including cleaning benches and floors, cleaning and maintenance of glassware, waste duties and availability of lab PPE.
Assist in:
sample management including receipt, booking in, labelling, preparation for analysis, retaining samples and safe removal for disposal.
sample stability management including liaising with stability site to initiate and remove stability samples for analysis.
stock management and maintenance of chemicals, glassware and other laboratory consumables
performing microbial environmental monitoring of designated facility areas.
preparation of microbial samples for shipment for external analysis
Ensure that the lab equipment, and associated operating procedures, are maintained including qualification and calibration as required.
Prepare dissolution media, fill and change dissolution flasks and assist with dissolution sampling of batches.
Sample and test raw materials, packaging materials and cleaning materials
Perform physical property testing of samples
Prepare Mobile Phase, Washes, reagents and volumetric solutions as detailed in documented procedures.
Adhere to the Company's policies and procedures especially those relating to Health & Safety policies.
Comply with all aspects of the Millicent Quality System.
Contribute to a 'quality culture' and an appreciation of the quality system within the QC Laboratory.
Undertake any other duties, which may be assigned by Laboratory Management.
Minimum A level (Grade A-C) / NVQ in related scientific discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Laboratory Science)
The ability to work well in a team
Time management
Experience with MS office applications
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
At least 1 years' experience working within a laboratory environment
Experience and understanding of cGMP
Experience of preparing risk assessments for materials and processes ie COSHH assessment
Experience of QC testing
