HiQ Tyres & Autocare has an exciting new opportunity for a MOT Tester Technician to join HiQ Autocentre in our Nottingham Centre. The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis, Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm – half a day finish on a Saturday. Salary negotiable depending on experience.
What you will be doing as a MOT Tester Technician:
- Work on all makes and models of vehicles
- Perform diagnostics, servicing, and repairs
- Handle brakes, tyres, and wheel alignment
- Inspect vehicle components, including brakes, lights, steering, and exhaust systems
- Conduct MOT tests on various types of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal requirements
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to perform necessary repairs or adjustments
- Document test results accurately and provide feedback to vehicle owners regarding any issues found
- Stay updated on changes in MOT regulations and testing procedures
- Always maintain health and safety standards, working within company guidelines and safe working practices
- Complete job cards, maintenance records, and associated paperwork to a high standard
- Undertake any additional duties (within reason) for the efficient running of the Store
- Carry out administration duties as required within the store
- Assist in carrying out regular stock checks in accordance with Company Policy
What you will need:
- Experience within a fast-fit car centre or a recognised vehicle franchise dealership
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools
- A valid MOT Tester license is essential
- Vehicle technician qualification and relevant experience
- Must have a full driver’s license with no more than 9 points
