HiQ Tyres & Autocare invites applications for full‑time, permanent MOT Tester Technician based in our Brandon Centre. Working Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:30 pm with a half day finish on Saturday. Salary negotiable depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Work on all makes and models of vehicles
- Perform diagnostics, servicing and repairs
- Handle brakes, tyres and wheel alignment
- Inspect vehicle components including brakes, lights, steering and exhaust systems
- Conduct MOT tests on various types of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal requirements
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to perform necessary repairs or adjustments
- Document test results accurately and provide feedback to vehicle owners regarding any issues found
- Stay updated on changes in MOT regulations and testing procedures
- Maintain health and safety standards, working within company guidelines and safe working practices
- Complete job cards, maintenance records and associated paperwork to a high standard
- Undertake additional duties (within reason) for efficient running of the store
- Carry out administration duties as required within the store
- Assist in carrying out regular stock checks in accordance with company policy
Qualifications
- Experience in a fast‑fit car centre or a recognised vehicle franchise dealership
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands‑on experience using hand tools and power tools
- Valid MOT Tester licence essential
- Vehicle technician qualification and relevant experience
- Full driver’s licence with no more than 9 points
